Many notable personalities were nominated for The Global Choice 100 of 2022, and Kim Taehyung, known as V of the famous K-pop boy group BTS, won in all categories: 100 Global Fashion Icons of 2022, 100 Global Faces of 2022, and 100 Global Artists of 2022. Taehyung clinched all three titles, including 2022 Global Fashion Icon of the Year, 2022 Global Face of the Year, and 2022 Global Artist of the Year, and was named The Global Choice of 2022. The nomination and voting period ran from January 1 to December 5, 2022.

With the massive global success of the K-pop boy band BTS, who wouldn’t notice Kim Taehyung, or most commonly known as V? He is one of the most popular K-pop stars worldwide. As a member of the K-pop superstar group BTS, he gained popularity and achieved widespread success and recognition.
Every massive success means a ton of hard work, grit, and perseverance, and these can be seen through Taehyung’s journey. His journey to becoming a successful musician began in 2011 when he auditioned for Big Hit Entertainment, now HYBE Corporation, the company that manages BTS. He was eventually selected to join the boy group, which made its debut in 2013 with the album “2 Cool 4 Skool.” Since then, Bangtan Boys, or BTS, has become one of the most successful and influential K-pop groups in the world, with a devoted and passionate fan base known as the “Army.” The devoted fans, the ARMY, use the color purple as one of the symbols for the superstar K-pop group. Purple hearts have now become a thing.
With his remarkable vocal and dancing abilities, as well as his charisma and stage presence, Taehyung has helped BTS succeed. Through his solo work, which includes writing and composing his own music, he has also shown his variety and range as an artist. Taehyung has dabbled with acting in addition to his profession as a musician, appearing in a number of television dramas and motion pictures.

A true fashion icon doesn’t just wear clothes; they use fashion as a statement. As for V, crowds cheered as he appeared on Celine’s Paris fashion show last 22 June 2022. He was with two K-pop superstars, Lisa Manoban of Blackpink and Park Bo Gum. V was present on personal invitation from Hedi Slimane, a world-famous designer. The three took the internet by storm as they made an appearance, and there was a lot of frenzy everywhere.
His guest appearance at the said fashion week sent the crowds into a frenzy. V looked so dashing with his leather pants set matched with a red leather jacket and a sequined top. This was V’s first ever attendance at a fashion week, and according to allkpop, V’s impact was insane as he had the highest engagement for Celine. That said, V has won the 2022 Global Fashion Icon of the Year. Garnering the votes, he topped and surpassed other prominent nominees like Bella Hadid, Harry Styles, Lisa Manoban, and Taylor Swift. V just brought his fashion taste, charisma, exhilarating aura, and popularity to the table.

V won another title as the Global Face of the Year 2022. With the much anticipated results of the votes across all our social media platforms, V has again topped the results. Who wouldn’t be in awe of his handsome and striking features? After making an appearance at the June 2022 Paris fashion week, V was selected by Vogue Korea to grace the cover of its October issue. Vogue Korea emphasized V’s creative involvement in the process. In a love letter to Taehyung, Vogue Korea calls him “The Universe Star,” stating that he has a captivating style that inspires designers.
The October issue of Vogue Korea made history, as V’s cover for the issue had the highest sales index ever recorded. The sales exceeded the 1-million mark just on the first day of pre-order. Vogue Korea was right in choosing V for its cover, which also means that countless fans are waiting for V’s appearance on future magazine covers. It is undeniable that V deserves the Global Face of the Year 2022. Not only is he a K-pop superstar but also a global phenomenon.

His song ‘Christmas Tree’ and ‘Sweet Night’ on Spotify gained over 400 million streams, and V has 3.3 million listeners on the platform. His soulful and powerful vocals made his listeners keep coming back to stream more of his music.
